justnext

No. Answer three questions and do a taster workout. There’s no sign-up, email or password.
Your first workout. It tries a few key moves and asks how each set felt. Too easy, About right or Too hard changes the next set straight away. Afterwards, a short check-in sets your starting weights and levels, and your plan is ready.
Keep rating each move Easy, Good or Hard at the end of its sets. justnext moves your weights, reps and moves on from those answers. You can change any set with − and + as you go.
Rest is part of the plan. justnext plans rest days between workouts, after a tough workout, and when you tap Rest today. If you’ve picked your training days in Settings, every other day is a day off. Train anyway is always one tap away, or tap Stretch for something lighter.
Tap Short on time on Today. It shows a shorter version of today’s workout. Choose how long, tap Use this, and it still counts as today’s workout.
Tap Not feeling it? for a stretch, some easy cardio, rest today, or the next workout in your plan instead. Nothing is lost, and nobody tells you off.
Tap the gear at the top of Today to open Settings. Changes apply from your next workout.
Swipe the picture up for another move that works the same muscles, and down to go back. Swipe left to skip a move, with Undo for a few seconds. You’ll find the same options as buttons under How to do it. To stop a move coming up again, add it to Moves to avoid in Settings.
That’s a change note: something went up because of how your last workouts went. Tap it to see why. If you’d rather not, tap Keep last time’s.
That’s fine. The countdown keeps going on your lock screen, and if you’ve turned on Buzz me when rest is over, you’ll get one alert when it’s time. If you close the app, your workout is waiting where you left it next time you open it.
The watch app comes with the iPhone app. If it isn’t on your watch, open the Watch app on your iPhone, find justnext, and tap Install.
Start your next workout, see the move, the set and the target, tap Complete set, rate a move, and watch your rest count down. Your iPhone still does the thinking, so keep it nearby (a pocket is fine). Swaps, Short on time and settings stay on the phone.
It can’t reach your phone. Check Bluetooth is on and the phone is nearby, then open justnext on the phone once.
Touch and hold your home screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and choose justnext. For the lock screen, touch and hold it, tap Customise, then the area below the clock. On the watch, add the justnext complication to your watch face.
iOS decides when widgets refresh, so give it a moment. Opening justnext once nudges it.
Check Save workouts to Apple Health is on in Settings, under Extras. If Settings says justnext can’t save to Health, allow it in the Health app under your profile, then Apps. A workout you end early is saved if you did at least one set. Workouts from before you turned it on aren’t added.
Yes, if you’re signed in to iCloud on both. Your workouts sync through your own private iCloud and appear on any iPhone or iPad signed in to the same Apple Account. Settings shows whether you’re backed up.
Sign in to iCloud in your iPhone’s Settings. Then, under your name and iCloud, check justnext is allowed to use iCloud. justnext still works in the meantime, and keeps everything on this phone until it can back up.
Settings, then Delete all my data. It removes your workouts, settings and plan from your phone and your iCloud. It can’t be undone. Workouts saved to Apple Health stay there. We can’t see your data, so we can’t delete it for you, but the privacy page explains how to remove the iCloud copy if you’ve already deleted the app.
Only if it’s on: a fixed list of anonymous events, such as “workout started”, and crash reports. Never your weights, reps, health data or anything that says who you are. It’s off unless you turn it on. The privacy page has the details.
After 4 weeks or more away, Settings offers Redo the taster to find your level again. To wipe everything and start from scratch, use Delete all my data.
justnext is for people aged 16 and over, and it isn’t medical advice. If you have a medical condition or injury, or are pregnant, check with a health professional before starting. Stop if you feel sharp pain. If a move hurts an area, add it under Go easy on in Settings, and justnext will leave out moves that load it.
Email hello@justnext.app. It helps to include your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version (at the bottom of Settings), and what you expected to happen.
